Indoor Climbing Award

This is a formal accreditation called the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS). We can deliver ASCEND, Level 1 and 2 at Glenmore Lodge as a block of regular sessions. This is suitable for young people of all abilities as part of their school program, activity agreement or self directed support. 

The scheme can be adapted to individuals needs and capabilities.

What will they learn?

• How to fit their own harness and helmet
• Safely tying in to a rope
• How to belay for a climbing partner
• How to lower a climbing partner
• Warm ups
• Climbing technique and movement
• Climbing grades and how to choose the right climb for them

We are running a 6 week course at Glenmore Lodge on the following dates 2.30-4.00pm

Cost of the course is £150 for the six sessions
